Rate Rookery's answers and drafts
Every answer and draft Rookery writes ends with two small buttons: Good (a thumbs up) and Not right (a thumbs down). On a computer they show when you point at the answer or the draft, or tab into it. On a phone they sit there faintly. Nobody will ever ask you to rate anything, and not rating means nothing.
Good
Tap Good and a small "Thanks" shows for a moment. The thumbs up stays filled in, so you can see what you said.
Not right
Tap Not right and one row opens underneath. Everything in it is optional:
- Why: pick any of Wrong, Missing something, Too long and Wrong tone.
- Anything else? A short note in your own words, up to 500 characters. Press Enter, or click away, and it's saved.
- Fix it now: on an answer, Try again asks the same question again. On a draft, Try again opens Send back with your reasons as the note, Edit opens the draft in your reply, and Teach Rookery opens Playbooks, where your team's rules live.
There's no Submit button: it's saved as you tap. The row then closes to one line, like "Not right · Too long · Change". Tap Change to open it again, tap the other button to switch, or tap the filled one to take your rating back.
What Rookery counts without asking
What you do with Rookery's work says a lot, so Rookery counts it, with no buttons: whether a draft went out as written, lightly edited or rewritten, or was sent back; whether you copied an answer, used it in a reply, or asked again soon after. Only the counts are kept, never the words.
What's kept, and who sees it
- Never your mail. A rating keeps which answer or draft it was about, your choice, your reasons and your note. No email, answer or draft text is copied.
- Your teammates never see your ratings or notes.
- You see your own ratings in Settings → Rookery → Your ratings, with Delete on each and Delete all your ratings. They're also in your export, from Settings → Your account → Take your mail with you, as
rookery-ratings.json. - Owners and admins see counts in Settings → Rookery → Feedback: how many Good and Not right, the reasons, and what people did with Rookery's work.
- Notes on drafts can be read by the workspace's owner, to improve Rookery. They're shown without your name, with only the day, and only once at least 3 people have written notes that month. In a small team, the owner may still be able to tell who wrote one.
- Notes on answers stay with you: your questions and answers are private, so nobody else sees those notes.
- Rookery's team sees counts and reason codes only, never notes or mail.
- Notes are cleared after 180 days, and ratings deleted after 400. When someone leaves the workspace, their ratings go with them.
