Did anyone answer her? Now you'll know.
Every conversation in Rookery says whose turn it is. Yours come first, each with a short reason. The rest is up for grabs, with a teammate, with a helper, or waiting on the other person.
“Two of us answered the same customer on Saturday. Differently. She wrote back asking which one of us was right.”
Same inbox. Fewer surprises.
The morning count
Before38 unread. Some are yours, some aren't, and you can't tell which without opening them.
With RookeryYour turn shows 3. It's the only loud number. Everything else is sorted by who has it.
Who's on it?
BeforeYou ask in the group chat. Nobody's sure.
With RookeryEach conversation sits with a person, a helper or the other side, and you can see which.
Handing off
BeforeYou forward it with “can you take this?” and hope.
With RookeryAssign it to Jess, or to a helper, and leave a note. It becomes their turn.
The double reply
BeforeTwo of you answer the same customer, in two different ways.
With RookeryYou can see Jess is already replying, so you leave her a note instead.
Three steps.
- Mail lands and gets a turn.Replies you owe go to Your turn, each with a reason: They replied, Mentioned you, Draft ready, Documents in.
- Take it, or hand it on.Take what's up for grabs, or assign it to a teammate or a helper, with a note.
- Done moves it out of the way.It leaves your list. If they write back, it's your turn again.
Scout: 3 are your turn this morning. Jess has the booking, and Fetch is chasing Sam's receipts.
The honest bit
- No warning before a double reply yet. You can see when a teammate is looking at, or replying to, the same conversation. Rookery doesn't stop you sending over them yet. Coming soon
- Up for grabs needs a team. When you work alone, everything that needs a reply is simply your turn.
- A long wait shows as a time, not a sticker. After 4 hours, the time on the row is highlighted so it stands out.
Better together.
Questions
What makes something my turn?
Someone replied and it's yours to answer, a teammate mentioned you, a draft is waiting for your yes, documents came in, or a snooze ended. Each row says which.
Do my teammates see my private mail?
No. Make your own address a private inbox and only you see it. Shared addresses like hello@ stay shared.
Can a helper be assigned a conversation?
Yes. Assign it to Scout, Quill or Fetch like a teammate. It moves to Helpers on it, and what they write follows the same rules as always: it waits for a person's yes unless you've chosen otherwise.
Is the badge every unread email?
No. The only loud number is how many things are your turn. Up for grabs and drafts waiting for you have their own quiet counts.
