Help that asks first.
Quill drafts your replies and waits. You read, change and send, and every send has an undo. If you come to trust it with one kind of email, you can let it send that kind itself, one topic at a time.
Hi Priya, thanks for the photos. The quote I sent on October 2 still stands, and yes, it includes the parts. Would Thursday morning suit you?
“It's six o'clock and there are thirty replies to write. I just want to read them, fix one, and go and have dinner.”
You decide. Every time.
Writing
BeforeYou write every reply yourself, or paste back and forth between an AI chat and your email.
With RookeryQuill drafts from the conversation and your notes, and waits for you.
Sending
BeforeAn assistant “handles” it, and you find out what it said afterwards.
With RookeryNothing goes until you approve it. Edit it first, or send it back with a note.
Second thoughts
BeforeSent is sent.
With RookeryEvery send waits 20 seconds, with an Undo button.
Trust
BeforeAll or nothing.
With RookeryFor each topic, choose how much Quill may do: suggest, draft, send with undo, or send on its own.
Three steps.
- Quill drafts and waits.Drafts show on the conversation and in Needs your yes, with what Quill used.
- You approve, edit or send it back.Approve and send, change the words first, or send it back with a note so Quill tries again.
- Undo if you need to.For 20 seconds after you send, one click brings it back.
Quill: Your reply to Priya is ready. I used your quote from October 2. Send it?
When a helper may send on its own
Only if a person set that topic to Send with undo or Autonomous, and only if every one of these checks passes. None of them depend on the AI's judgement alone:
- The email isn't flagged as a possible scam.
- The sender is confirmed: the email really came from the address it shows.
- It isn't the first email from this sender.
- Scout found no warning signs.
- Quill is highly confident in the reply.
- The reply has no link or email address that only appeared in the incoming email.
- If any check fails, the draft waits for you and says why. Helpers that send on their own get an undo window too: 10 minutes at Send with undo, 30 seconds at Autonomous.
The honest bit
- Helpers can be wrong. That's why every draft shows what it used, and why sending on its own is something you switch on, never something we switch on for you.
- The undo is short. 20 seconds for what you send. After that, the email has gone.
- Rookery suggests, a person decides. When you've approved most of a topic's drafts unchanged, Rookery says it could move up a level. It never moves itself.
Better together.
Questions
Will it ever send without me?
Only if you choose. Every topic starts at Draft: Quill writes and waits. You can let it send one kind of email itself, and it still holds anything that fails the checks.
How do I take that back?
Move the topic back to Draft in Settings. From then on, Quill drafts and waits again.
Who can change how much a helper may do?
Owners and admins. Everyone else can approve, edit and send back drafts.
What will it never send alone?
Anything flagged as a possible scam, a first email from someone new, mail from a sender that couldn't be confirmed, and any reply that repeats a link or address that only appeared in the incoming email.
