Find a setting

Settings has two groups:

  • You changes things only for you: your account, notifications, writing and reading, and time and calendar. Everyone sees all of it.
  • Workspace changes things for the whole team: people and groups, inboxes, Rookery, snippets, the front desk, your domain, developers, and security and activity. Owners and admins change these.

Open Settings

  1. Click Settings at the bottom of the menu, or press g then ,.
  2. On a wide screen, the Settings menu takes the place of the main menu. Back to Inbox at the top takes you back.
  3. On a phone you see a list first. Tap a page to open it, and tap Settings at the top to go back to the list.

Search for a setting

Type in Search settings at the top of the menu. The list narrows as you type, and each result says where it is, like "You › Notifications". Press Enter to open the first one. The page scrolls to that setting and highlights it.

You can also press ⌘K (or Ctrl+K) and type. Settings show up there too.

Old names still work. "Helpers", "autonomy" or "agents" finds Rookery, "Just me" finds Writing and reading, and "on point" finds Inboxes.

If you're a member

You see everything under You. Under Workspace you see the parts that affect you:

  • Inboxes: the inboxes you use, who can use them and who approves Rookery's drafts there.
  • Rookery: what Rookery may do in those inboxes, and your own inboxes to set.
  • People and groups: who's on the team, their roles and groups.

The team's settings there are read-only for you, marked Set by your admins with their names. Ask one of them to change something. Developers, the domain, the front desk and Security and activity are only for owners and admins.

Good to know

  • Some pages have new names. Helpers is now Rookery, Just me is Writing and reading, Calendar is Time and calendar, Team is People and groups and Integrations is Developers.
  • Old links and bookmarks still work. For example, /settings/agents opens Rookery.
  • Your account moved to its own page, /settings/account. /settings opens the list of every page.
