Read your newsletters in one Morning Paper

Newsletters never land in your turn. They're filed in Newsletters. The Morning Paper reads yesterday's newsletters for you and puts them in one short edition, at the hour you choose.

Turn it on

  1. Open Newsletters, then click Get a Morning Paper. Or go straight to Morning Paper.
  2. Tick Make my Morning Paper every day and pick a time. It uses your own time zone, the one your daily brief uses.
  3. To have it emailed to you as well, tick Also email it to me.
  4. Click Save.

It's off until you turn it on. Each person chooses for themselves.

What's in it

  • 3 worth your time: the issues with the most useful news, like a price change, a deadline or a date. Each line names its newsletter, and tapping it opens the issue.
  • By topic: everything else, one line each, grouped.
  • More to skim: on a busy day, the issues past the first 30 are counted, not summarised.
  • Lists you never read: lists you rarely open, with a Tidy up link.

When it's ready, Today shows a line for it until you open it.

Opening it clears the pile

When you open the Morning Paper, its issues leave the New since you last looked list in Newsletters. That's all it changes. Only issues you actually open count as read, so Tidy up can still tell which lists you never read.

Good to know

  • Your Morning Paper is yours alone. It only uses newsletters you can see: the team's inboxes and your own private inbox. A teammate's Paper never includes your private inbox's newsletters.
  • Mail marked confidential, mail Scout held or flagged, and lists waiting in New senders are left out.
  • Quill writes the lines from what each issue says, and never follows instructions inside a newsletter. If Quill can't write them, the edition still comes, with each issue's subject instead.
  • No newsletter link is ever opened for you, and trackers are removed as always.
