What clients see on the upload page

When you send a document request, the person gets a link to a simple page. It's made for people who hate portals: there's nothing to sign up for and no password to remember.

What they do

  1. They open the link from your email.
  2. They see your company name at the top, "Documents we asked you for", your message and your due date.
  3. Each document has its own row. Optional ones are marked Optional.
  4. They pick a file for a row and tap Upload.
  5. The row says "Checking your file…" for a moment.
  6. Then it says Received and checked. Or it says what's wrong, and the button becomes Upload a new file.
  7. When everything required is in, the page says "Everything is in. Thank you!"

Files they can send

  • PDFs
  • Photos: JPEG, PNG, HEIC, WebP and GIF
  • Word, Excel and OpenDocument files, and CSV
  • Up to 25 MB per file

Good to know

  • The link is private to them. It works until the request is complete or you cancel it.
  • The due date is a reminder for them. The link still works after it.
  • Once an item is accepted, it can't be replaced by mistake.
  • If you cancel the request, the page tells them they don't need to upload anything.
  • The page footer says files go only to you.
  • Search engines don't list these pages.
