Fetch chases it

Stop asking three times.

Tell Fetch what you need. The person gets a checklist and a private link that works on any phone. Fetch checks each file as it arrives, and reminds them until it's all in. No account, no password.

“It's quarter-end. Sixty clients, and I've written “just checking in about those receipts” more times than I can count.”

Before, and with Rookery

Ask once. Fetch does the rest.

Asking

BeforeA long email listing what you need. Half of it gets missed.

With RookeryA checklist of exactly what you need, with a place to upload each item.

Logging in

BeforeA portal clients forget the password to.

With RookeryA private link with your name on it. No account, nothing to remember.

The wrong file

BeforeYou spot it a week later and start again.

With RookeryEach file is checked as it lands. Blank, unreadable or not what you asked for? They hear why straight away.

Chasing

BeforeYou keep a list in your head of who still owes what.

With RookeryFetch reminds them on day 2, 4 and 7, and stops the moment it's all in.

How it works

Three steps.

  1. Ask.From the conversation, list the documents you need and send the request, with the usual undo.
  2. They upload. From a phone or a computer: photos, PDFs or Office files, up to 25 MB each.
  3. Fetch checks and chases. Each file is checked on arrival, and reminders go out until everything required is in.

Fetch: Dave sent 4 of 5. The fuel receipt is still missing, so I'll remind him on Thursday.

What it doesn't do yet

The honest bit

  • Checks can be wrong. Fetch looks at whether a file is what you asked for and can be read. If it turns down a good file, you can accept it yourself with Accept anyway.
  • Fetch doesn't check dates yet. It reads dates and amounts and files them, but it doesn't yet confirm a statement is for the period you asked for.
  • Reminder days are fixed at 2, 4 and 7 days after you ask, for now.
  • A new upload replaces the old one. Earlier versions of a file aren't shown on screen yet. Coming soon

Questions

Do people need an account?

No. They open the link, see your checklist and upload. There's nothing to sign up for and no password.

What does a check look at?

Whether the file is what you asked for, and whether it can be read: not blank, not a scan nobody can make out. Fetch is relaxed about format and strict about the wrong document.

Can I change the reminder days?

Not yet. Reminders go out 2, 4 and 7 days after you ask, and stop when everything required is in. Cancel the request to stop them sooner.

Where do the files go?

Onto the conversation, and into Documents, filed by kind, with dates and amounts pulled out where there are any.
