# Add your photo

Put your face on everything you do in Rookery, and on your booking page. Your team can add a photo for a client too, which only the team sees.

Getting started · Updated October 11, 2026 · https://userookery.com/help/profile-photos/

Your photo shows wherever your initials do now: on what you're assigned, your notes, mentions, drafts you're writing and messages you send. Until you add one, your initials stay.

## Add your photo

1. Go to **Settings**, then **Your account**.
2. Click **Add a photo** and pick a JPEG, PNG or WebP of up to 20 MB. On an iPhone, any photo works.
3. Drag the photo, or use the arrow keys, to put your face in the circle. The **Zoom** slider, or + and −, makes it bigger or smaller.
4. Click **Use photo**.

To change it, click **Change photo**. To go back to your initials, click **Remove photo**.

## Who sees it

- **Your team**, everywhere your face shows in Rookery.
- **Clients**, beside your messages on their client page, and on your own booking page. A team's booking page shows the business, not a person.

Helpers always keep their rook, so their work is never mistaken for a person's.

## A photo for a client

Most teams never need this, and clients show their initials unless you add one.

1. Open their page from **People**.
2. Under **Their photo**, click **Add a photo**, then crop it the same way.

Only your team sees it, and only teammates who can see that person's mail. It never shows on pages the client opens. Their timeline says who added or removed it.

If Scout flags mail from that address, their initials show instead, so a fake email can't borrow a real client's face.

## What Rookery never does

Rookery never looks anyone up by their email address, on Gravatar or anywhere else. Those lookups tell another company who's writing to you. Faces only come from photos your team adds.

Your photo is cut to a square and saved without its hidden details, like where and when it was taken or the camera used.
