# Choose a 12-hour or 24-hour clock

Times in Rookery follow your own clock, 9:14 am or 09:14. It matches your device until you pick one in Settings.

Every time in Rookery is written the way your own clock writes it: **9:14 am** on a 12-hour clock, or **09:14** on a 24-hour one. That's the inbox, conversations, Today, Calendar, Offer times, Send later and the booking cards in a thread, all the same way.

## Pick your clock

1. Go to **Settings → Just me**.
2. Under **Clock**, pick **12-hour (9:14 am)**, **24-hour (09:14)** or **Match this device**.
3. Click **Save**.

**Match this device** is where everyone starts. Rookery uses the clock your browser's language uses, so a computer set to English (US) shows 9:14 am and one set to English (UK) or German shows 09:14. On a second device with a different setting, times there follow that device.

## How times read

- On a 12-hour clock, a time in a list has its minutes (**9:00 am**), and a time inside a sentence leaves them out on the hour (**Mon 12 Oct, 10 am**).
- A span says am or pm once when both ends share it: **9–9:30 am**, or **11 am–1 pm**. On a 24-hour clock it's **09:00–09:30**.
- Fields where you type a time, like working hours, show it your way, and take either kind: **9**, **9:30**, **5pm** or **17:00**.

## Emails and other people's pages

- **Emails Rookery sends for you**, like the times you offer, a booking confirmation, or the line above a quoted email, use your clock.
- **Pages other people open**, like your booking page or a client's private page, use the clock on their device, so a client in London sees 14:00 and one in New York sees 2:00 pm.

Your time zone is a separate setting: see [Get your daily brief](https://userookery.com/help/daily-brief/) for how Rookery picks it and asks when you travel.
