# Take your mail with you

Export a copy of everything, any time, in standard files any mail app can open: your mail, the people you write to, your files and playbooks.

Your mail is yours. You can take a copy of everything, whenever you like, in standard files that other apps open.

## Export

1. Go to **Settings → Your account → Take your mail with you**.
2. Choose what to export:
   - **Export the workspace** (owners and admins): the team's inboxes and your own private ones.
   - **Export my private inbox** (anyone with one): just your own private inboxes.
3. The export is made in the background, so you can leave the page. It shows there and on **Today** when it's ready,
   with a **Download** button.

## What's in it

One zip with:

- every message as MBOX, one file per inbox, which any mail app can import;
- the attachments and the documents people uploaded for you;
- the people you write to, as one vCard file;
- your playbooks, as Markdown;
- what Kept tracked (bills, receipts, orders and subscriptions), with the emails each came from;
- a README that says what each file is.

## Good to know

- Other people's private inboxes are never in an export, not even the owner's export of the workspace.
- The zip is kept for 7 days, and only the person who asked can download it. Export again any time for a fresh copy.
- Receipts for your accountant have their own export in **Kept** ([Kept](https://userookery.com/help/kept/)).
- To delete your workspace, write to us and a person will do it.
